Basically
a Hypno-psychotherapist is a registered hypno-psychotherapist
who employs hypnosis alongside other forms of psychotherapy.
In addition to treating disorders of mood, thought or feeling,
Hypno-Psychotherapy may help with a wide range of psychological
problems from habit disorders such as smoking, over-eating and
sleeplessness, to social difficulties such as lack of confidence,
exam/driving test nerves, phobias and panic attacks.
It is also widely used for enhancing sporting performance, creativity,
memory and concentration. |
I
use a wide range of techniques such as: |
•Hypnosis
•NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Program)
•Cognitive methods
•Behavioral approach
As
with the majority of complementary therapies at the initial
consultation I will take a complete medical and psychological
history.
Occasionally the problem can be dealt with in this single session
(for instance where the patient wishes to quit smoking) or if
not I will be able to give you a fairly accurate idea of how
long a course of treatment will be required.
Goals will be constantly re-assessed and progress monitored.
Of course, there is no guarantee of success – in fact
beware of ANY therapist ‘promising a cure’, but
where the patient is committed to their goal there is every
chance for a positive and encouraging outcome. |
